Prayer & Fasting Day 6

Read John 6.

Again, as we are fasting, we are reading more about eating and drinking. However, the eating and drinking Jesus talks about is a hard teaching and one that seems to turn the “fans” away from “following” Him. Jesus says, “He is the bread of life” (v.48) and if we eat of Him and drink of Him, we will never be hungry or thirsty (v. 35). Of course, this is figuratively speaking and not literally cannibalism. In other words, Jesus is saying He is the only one who can completely satisfy the desires of men and women.

As you pray and continue to fast today, seek Jesus solely as your sustainment. Go deep in your love relationship with Him today. Find your fulfillment in His closeness and presence. He promises us if we seek Him with our whole heart, He will let us find Him (Jeremiah 29:13, Matthew 7:7).
