Prayer & Fasting Day 8

Read John 8.

John 8 begins with a woman caught in adultery who is brought before Jesus to, “test him” (v. 6a). Instead of falling into the trap, Jesus challenges the Pharisees to examine their own hearts. Jesus offered a way forward, for all people, when faced with condemnation.

For those who believe in him, Jesus said, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” (v. 31-32). As you pray today, ask the Holy Spirit to reveal a lie of the enemy you believe. Ask the Holy Spirit to show you truth from God’s Word to hold onto and experience freedom in life. Lastly, ask the Holy Spirit to show you where you are called to greater obedience in following God.

Jesus said, “If anyone keeps my word, he will never taste death” (v. 52). Where do you need to keep God’s Word in your life?
