Prayer & Fasting Day 9

Read John 9.

Today I want to encourage us to feel and experience the depth of this story. As you read, hear the tension in the narrative regarding sin, brokenness, healing, and religious knowledge. To whom does God listen and not listen? Where can we go to find healing and belonging? 

We must also ask ourselves, “Have I personally experienced spiritual sight?” Is there a moment in my life I was able to say, “One thing I do know, that I was blind, now I see” (v. 25)? Today, ask God to give you spiritual eyes to see who He is and ears to hear and understand His voice.

Have you experienced rejection in your life? Spend time writing about it and articulate the feelings that came with it. Where did you turn? Jesus is looking for those who have been rejected, turned away, and told that God has nothing for them.

Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal the heart of Jesus towards you. Ask him to give you new sight to see who He is and what He has done in your life. Write out who you believe Jesus to be.
