Prayer & Fasting Day 21

Read John 21.

Here we are on the final day. I hope that God has moved in your life in an unforgettable way.

In our text for today, we see a gentle side of our King. Peter, who had previously denied his teacher and Lord three times, has held onto that guilt. It has been seated in his heart from that moment.

Jesus asks Peter three times, “Do you love me?” (v 15-17). We see Peter’s reaction when he connects his past denial to Jesus’ heart in this moment.

We see that Jesus cares about our mental health. As Christ has done all of these impossible, beautiful things, he still takes time to address the hurts of our hearts. He did that in person with Peter, and now he does that in and through his local church.

Take time today to consider the hurts of your own heart, and see how God is seeking to heal that hurt.
