Prayer & Fasting Day 12
Read John 12.
There is a statement I heard going into 2025 - God comes where He’s wanted. This statement is now woven into my prayer life. “God, I want you in my life, in my home, in my work, and in this church. Come. You are wanted here.”
God doesn’t need an invitation, yet He desires one. John 12 is a glimpse into God coming where He is wanted. In Bethany, we see Jesus reclining at dinner with friends. Lazarus is there with him, and Martha is serving. Mary comes in and anoints Jesus’ feet with an expensive perfume, and “the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.” Jesus was wanted in Bethany, he was wanted at the home of Lazarus, Martha, and Mary.
God comes where He’s wanted. And when He comes and meets with those who invited Him, there is an overflow of worship and devotion. We see this continue as Jesus rides into Jerusalem on a donkey, as some of the Greeks seek him out. God the Father speaks of who Jesus is.
As you pray today, pray to have a hunger for God. Pray the Holy Spirit awakens in you a deep desire to see God come into all areas of your life. Pray for a heart that leads to a life where you sit with Jesus, serve Jesus, and have a deep devotion to worship Jesus.
God comes where He’s wanted. Do you want Him in your life, in your home, in your work, and in this church?
